As a twenty-three year old man, I have had the luxury of growing up with the development of technology at my fingertips. While the Internet has served as a beneficial part of my education, it has become apparent that some traditional methods of teaching lack the ability to make this technology available to the students. In order to make a classroom interactive, online tools such as you tube, and Google can serve as effective way of teaching students, with the use of examples. Unfortunately with any great tool, there are consequences when it is not used responsibly. This is seen across the board as students use the internet inappropriately during class to shop, chat online, or change their Facebook status. In order to maintain the focus of students, teachers should consider making topics relevant to current events, which can be taught through documentaries, or online videos that relate to a topic in class. Therefore transforming the limitless amount information on the Internet into a tool which students can learn to use properly, which can benefit their current and future lives. By informing students of current global, and social events, they can be better prepared to make decisions in life, and better understand how to implement their education in a society, where information travels across the globe in a matter of seconds.
